About this service

Billing dates differ from service to service, and the day you signed up is often not the day you are charged. With a seven-day trial, the first charge lands a week later. Two or three are easy to remember; past five, memory stops working.

Subscription Ledger gathers your contracts in one place and warns you before a renewal. It keeps the trial end date and the cancellation deadline as separate fields on purpose: when cancellation must be done "by the day before renewal", watching only the end date means you are already too late.

Month-end contracts are handled correctly. If renewal falls on 31 January, the next one is 28 February (29 in a leap year) — but if that becomes the new anchor, March and April drift to the 28th as well. The original day is remembered, so March returns to the 31st.

Getting started

  1. Create an account

Register with an email address and password, then open the link in the confirmation email. No card details are required.

  2. Add your subscriptions

Enter the name, price, billing cycle and next renewal date. Entering the start date and cycle lets the app suggest the next renewal date. For a free trial, also record the end date and the cancellation deadline.

  3. Choose when to be told

Same day, 1, 3, 7, 14 or 30 days before. Annual plans cost more, so 14 or 30 days gives you time to consider switching.

  4. Record each renewal

Press "renewed" and the next date advances by one billing cycle — and keeps advancing until it is later than today, even if you left it untouched for months.

Pricing and cancellation

The free plan allows up to five subscriptions, with the dashboard, renewal tracking and on-screen deadlines. Email reminders are not included.

Premium is ¥980 per year (tax included) and covers up to 200 subscriptions, email reminders, CSV export, JSON backup and restore, and yearly totals by category. Payment is handled by Stripe; this service never receives your card number.

When Premium ends, your data is not deleted. If you are over the free limit, only adding new entries is disabled.

What to know before you start

Frequently asked questions

Can I keep using it for free?
Yes. Up to five subscriptions is free with no time limit. Consider Premium when you want email reminders.
Will you cancel subscriptions for me?
No. You can store the URL of the cancellation page, and reminder emails link to it. Whether cancellation or a refund is possible depends on the provider.
Can I record subscriptions in foreign currencies?
Twelve currencies are supported. Because no exchange rates are applied, totals are shown separately per currency.
What happens to my data if I close my account?
Everything is deleted 30 days after you request closure. You can cancel the request until then. Export anything you need first.
