About this service
Expiry dates live in different places: the licence in your wallet, the inspection certificate in the glovebox, a letter that arrived in the post, an email from a registrar. Each one is legible when you look at it — which is precisely the problem. Kigen Memo gathers them in one place and makes them come to you.
All you enter is a title and a date. After that, at the stages you choose (60 days, 30 days, 7 days, the day before — up to five), an email arrives around 8 a.m. Japan time. When the renewal is done you press “update” and the next date is created for you, including yearly or multi-year cycles.
Some things are deliberately absent. Photographs of certificates, PDFs, certificate numbers, My Number and bank account numbers are not stored — there is no field to type them into. What needs managing is when something expires, not what the document says.
Getting started

Create an account
Register with an email address and set a password from the link in the confirmation email. The 14-day free trial starts there.

Add an expiry date
A title and a date are all it takes. If you want to keep people apart, create a “subject” and assign entries to them (up to ten). There is no field for photos or numbers.

Choose when to be told
Up to five stages — 30 days before, 7 days before, the day before, and so on. All notices go out around 8 a.m. Japan time; the hour cannot be changed.

Press “update” once it is renewed
The next date is generated automatically. Recurrence is anchored to the original day, so 31 January is followed by 28 February and then 31 March — it does not drift earlier over time.
Pricing and cancellation
The first 14 days are free. No card details are required for the trial and nothing is charged automatically.
To carry on, Basic costs JP ¥980/year (tax included). Up to 200 entries, 10 subjects, five notification stages, recurrence with automatic recalculation, and CSV/JSON import and export are all available on the trial and on the paid plan alike.
What to know before you start

It does not guarantee that anything gets renewed
This is a tool for remembering. Email can be delayed or fail to arrive. Always confirm the real expiry date on the licence, certificate or contract issued to you.

Certificate images and numbers cannot be stored
There is no field for photos, PDFs, certificate numbers, My Number or bank account numbers. What is never collected cannot leak.

The notification hour is fixed
Notices are sent around 8 a.m. Japan time. You cannot ask for “the night before” or “before I leave for work”.

Notices go to your registered email address
There are no push notifications and no SMS. Check your spam folder when the first notice is due.

- The 14-day trial is free. Continuing after that requires the Basic plan. Nothing is charged automatically when the trial ends.
- Can I manage my family’s dates too?
- Yes. Create up to ten “subjects” and assign entries to each, so you can see whose licence expires when in a single list.
- How many reminders will I get?
- Up to five stages per entry — for example 60 days, 30 days, 7 days and the day before.
- Can I bring data in from something else?
- CSV and JSON import are supported, and export uses the same formats, so you can move away again later.
